GAINESVILLE — Lee Scott Academy scorched the course at Chattahoochee Golf Club on Friday and Satutrday to claim the 2017 Invite tournament, firing a two-day 567 (291, 276) to finish 21 strokes ahead of second place Columbus.
Gainesville, meanwhile, carded a total of 601 (299, 302) to finish sixth, while North Hall put up a 699 (352, 347).
Lee Scott placed three individuals inside the top 10, including low medalist Turk Pettit (69, 66 - 135). Gainesville's AD Winston led all local competitors with a 145 (73, 72), finishing tied for sixth. Red Elephants teammate Brody Simmons also shot a 150 (75, 75), while Brennan Manson paced North Hall golfers with a 152 (78-74). Gainesville's Drew Lasseter also carded a 155 (77-78).
