MADISON — Dawson County's improbable run in the Class AAA playoffs finally came to an end, but not without fight.
Defending Class AAA champion Morgn County knocked out the Lady Tigers with a tough 66-55 win on Tuesday.
Dawson County hung tough with the powerful Bulldogs going to the second quarter tied at 8-all. Morgan County pulled ahead 29-23 by halftime and slowly pulled away in the second half. The Lady Bulldogs outscored Dawson County 37-32 in the second half.
A young team without any seniors, the Lady Tigers defied most of the odds with their late season run. Kaylee Sticker continued her playoff surge pacing Dawson County with 24 points. Anna Lowe added 10 points and Abi Chatham, Chloe Bennett, and Calli Watson each chipped in with six points apiece.
