(UPDATE) Girls basketball: Dawson, Buford, North Hall, Banks County take non-region wins

OAKWOOD — The North Hall girls ran their win streak to three with a 61-27 win over Johnson on Saturday.

Ansleigh Ferguson paced the Lady Tojans with 18 points. Lauren Swanson added 10 points.

North Hall (6-2) next will play host to Hart County on Monday.


BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 55,
WEST HALL 36

The Lady Leopards put a tough overtime loss to East Hall on Tuesday behind them with a solid road win over the Lady Spartans on Saturday.

Allison Smith led Banks County with 16 points. Jaycie Bowen added 11 points, Morgan Lyons 8 points, and Maddie Thomas 7 points for the Lady Leopards (5-2).

Banks County will open its Region 8-AA schedule at home on Tuesday against Monticello.


BUFORD GIRLS 66,
GRAYSON 38

The Lady Wolves (8-0) dominated in the Gwinnett Challenge on Saturday at Grayson High School. 

Tory Ozment paced Buford with 13 points, while Audrey Wiener added 12 and Sierra Sieracki 11.

The Lady Wolves play host to Morgan County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

 

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 59,
FORSYTH CENTRAL 40

The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Bulldogs 31-16 in the second half to pull away for the victory.

The game was tied at 12 after the first quarter. A pair of 3-pointer's by Calli Watson and two baskets by Emma Brown helped Dawson County (6-2) take a 28-24 lead into halftime.

Watson led all scorers with a season-high 22 points. Brown added 12points for the Lady Tigers.

 Dawson County will travel to White County on Monday.
