GAINESVILLE — The North Hall basketball teams completed a key sweep of Dawson County Tuesday in Region 7-AAA action at the North Hall gym.
The Lady Trojans knocked off the Lady Tigers 55-44 while the North Hall boys needed overtime to beat the Tigers, 60-55.
In the girls game, North Hall fended off a determined Dawson County start.
The Lady Trojans (10-7, 3-2 Region 7-AAA) opened strong with a 16-5 first quarter and pushed their lead to 27-15 by halftime. Dawson County used a 17-10 third quarter to pull within 37-32 and got to within three in the fourth quarter but could get no closer.
North Hall pulled away thanks in large part to hitting 7-of-10 free throws down the stretch.
Taylor Anne Kelley paced North Hall with 24 points. Sadie Cleveland added 22 -- 15 in the fourth quarter, including three 3-pointers -- for the Lady Trojans.
Abi Chatham and Calliw Watson each had eight points to lead Dawson County (5-11, 2-2). Marlie Townley had seven points for the Lady Tigers.

The Trojans (10-7, 3-2 Region 7-AAA) snapped a two-game losing streak with the victory.
North Hall outscored the Tigers (8-8, 2-2) 9-4 in the extra period.
North Hall led 19-10 after the first quarter and took a 29-22 lead into halftime. But Dawson County chipped away in the second half.
The Tigers used a 16-11 third quarter to pull within 40-38 heading into the fourth and caught North Hall at 51 at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime.
Alden Lewallen paced North Hall with 14 points. Evan Easton added 11 for the Trojans.
Cullen Reed led Dawson County with a game-high 26 points. Jeremiah Crumley finished with 14 points for the Tigers.
North Hall is off until next Tuesday when the Trojans will play host to Lumpkin County in Region 7-AAA.
Dawson County hits the road again on Friday traveling to East Hall in 7-AAA action.
