UPDATE: Authorities identify two men killed in Braselton altercation

By B.J. Williams

As the investigation continues into a deadly incident at a Braselton residence, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Barrow County Sheriff's Office have released the identities of the men who died.

The GBI identified Stanley Hugh Ivy, Jr., 47, of Hoschton as the victim in the Tuesday afternoon incident. Whitney Kyle Stovall, 31, of Winder also died.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said in a Wednesday morning press release that deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at 1168 Old Hog Mountain Road. Ivy was found dead at the scene. The GBI said Ivy's body was located in a shed on the property.

Stovall was taken into custody, according to the sheriff's office. Stovall later died at a local hospital, apparently from injuries he sustained from family members as they tried to stop the attack on Ivy.

The GBI said in a press release Tuesday night the bodies of the two men had been transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur for autopsies.

Agents with the GBI are handling the investigation at this point.
