Elliott leads UNG men's golf

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — University of North Georgia junior Matt Elliott is tied for fourth-place individually in a field of nearly 90 after two rounds at the Jay Jennison Cup at Slammer and Square in St. Augustine, Fla. The Nighthawks stand at 12th (298-294-592) in the team standings among the 17 teams at the event.

Elliott (71-69-140) sits at four strokes under par and is just three shots back of Belmont Abbey's Nick Swafford who holds the lead heading into the final round of play on Tuesday.

Logan Archer (72-73-145) is just one stroke over par after the first two rounds, with Grant Lasseter and Tanner Merck sitting at +9 and +10, respectively.

West Florida leads the team standings at -12 (282-282-564), while Georgia College and Lander are tied for sixth at +12 as the top performing Peach Belt programs at the event thus far.

UNG will tee off starting at 9:15 a.m., tomorrow and will be paired with Rollins and host Flager.
