SALISBURY, N.C. — Freshman Jordyn Sims led the University of North Georgia women's golf team to their best finish of the young season on Tuesday as the Nighthawks finished tied for third at the 2016 Patsy Rendleman Invitational hosted by Catawba College at the Country Club of Salisbury, 312-309-621. Sims recorded a second round 73, one shot over par to finish the tournament fourth individually, 75-73-148, tied for the second best single round mark in school history. UNG's 36-hole 621 (+45) equals the team best set last fall at the Lander Lady Bearcat Invitational.
Carson Roberts and Anna Greer were both able to improve upon their first round scores. Roberts shot a 76 on the day, three strokes better than her first 18 to finish at 79-76-155. Greer was two shots better than her first round with a second round 79 to finish at 81-79-160.
The Nighthawks return home to host the Third Annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial at Achasta Golf Club next week in Dahlonega on Oct. 17-18.
