TUNICA, Miss. — The Piedmont College men's golf team finished the first round of their season opener, the Rhodes College Men's Fall Collegiate Golf Classic, in 15th overall of 18 teams.
The Lions were led by Sophomore Garrett Rowland with his round score of 76. Rowland showed mental toughness during today's round finishing the final eleven holes at even par.
Head Coach J.P. Kircher noted that the winds were different in the practice rounds so the course played differently today. "Even with the tough conditions, the Lions didn't quit or get discouraged. They all seemed to find a little something to work on with their games coming down the stretch so hopefully that can transition into something positive tomorrow."
