BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Piedmont College women's golf team opened the 2016 fall season with a hot start, carding a 330 team score led by Kensley Brown's 79 in round one. The 330 team score tied the low-round for the Lady Lions from the 2015-16 season from the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invite in March.
Brown's 79 put her tied for 13th overall while Jana Guy was a stroke behind her with an 80 finishing tied for 22nd. Freshman Jordan Abbott didn't disappoint in her collegiate debut as she carded an 82 sitting in a tie for 34th overall.
Piedmont's final scoring spot belonged to Ashton Mamula who scored an 89 in round one while Charli Justice had a 92. The Lady Lions continue action with round two on Monday at Highland Park.
