A former Hall County Fire Services Battalion Chief has been accused of harassing Hall County administrators and personnel during an eight month time period.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office confirmed the arrest of 52-year-old David McGehee on charges of stalking and phone harassment.
The sheriff's office issued a press release on the June 9 arrest.
"It is alleged McGehee had repeatedly contacted Hall County administrators and personnel by means of email and phone calls during the time period of October 12, 2015 through June 9, 2016," the release stated.
According to Hall County Human Resources Director Bill Moats, McGehee worked for Hall County Fire Services from June 5, 1983 until he was terminated on February 18, 2013. In 1991, McGehee was promoted to a Lieutenant then to Battalion Captain in 2002. McGehee was promoted to the position of Battalion Chief in 2005.
McGehee lost his job in 2013 following his arrest in a domestic incident. His termination was upheld by the Civil Service Board.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office said McGehee is being held without bond at the Hall County Jail. McGehee requested a committal hearing, according to HCSO, and that hearing has been set for June 29 in Hall County Magistrate Court.
Authorities are not commenting further on the case, saying more charges could be forthcoming.
