Members of the Hall County Fire Services Marine Rescue Team participated in the Swift Water Rescue Refresher Training at Six Flags Over Georgia recently.
The theme park's Thunder River was used for the training, which allowed the participants to practice rescues of victims in various types of moving water.
Six skill stations were established to teach and evaluate different types of scenarios encountered during a swift water rescue including rescuing multiple victims. The class was instructed by members of the Gwinnett County Swift Water Rescue Team and included attendees from Hall, Gwinnett, Cobb, Walker, and Forsyth counties and the cities of Atlanta, Sandy Springs, and Marietta.
