MT. AIRY — A 15-year-old girl was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital Saturday after a four-wheeler wreck near Mt. Airy.

The teen, whose name is not being released as of Saturday night, "went up the terrace and overturned," said Lt. Matt Wurtz of Habersham County Sheriff's Office.

The incident occurred at 1:17 p.m. Saturday in a pasture at 505 Owens Circle, located directly behind the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy.

The teen suffered what Wurtz said are serious but initially not believed to be life-threatening injuries, and was flown from the former driver education range on the campus of the school.
