Habersham County Schools will remain closed for Tuesday.
School officials said they did a thorough check of roadways Monday afternoon and what they found was “not good.”
“There is standing water in many areas, which will be solid ice in the morning,” a release said.
Officials went on to say that the temperature will bottom out at 23-degrees at daybreak, and that if they had school tomorrow there would be “numerous wrecks.”
They also said parents should prepare for a possible delay or closure for Wednesday as well.
