Five Hall County teams win Odyssey of the Mind state titles

One out of every three state champions crowned over the weekend at the Odyssey of the Mind Finals hailed from Hall County.

In all, 15 teams brought home championships, with five schools from Hall County winning in their respective divisions, according to a press release from Hall County School District Spokesman Gordon Higgins.

The following teams won:

  • World Language Academy — "Something Fishy" — Division I
  • Davis Middle School — "Something Fishy" — Division II
  • Davis Middle Schools — "Stack Attack" — Division II
  • Flowery Branch High School — "Stack Attack" — Divsion II
  • Da Vinci Academy — "No-Cycle Recycle" — Division II

The finals were held April 9 at Columbus State University, and in addition to the five champions, three other teams finished as runners-up.

  • Martin Technology Academy — "No-Cycle Recycle" — Division I
  • Da Vinci Academy — "Aesop Gone Viral" — Division II
  • Flowery Branch High School — "Fins, Furs, Feathers and Friends" — Division II

All eight teams qualify for the 2016 Odyssey of the Mind World Finals, which will be held at Iowa State University on May 25-28.
