GAINESVILLE — Corbin Meeler staked North Hall baseball to a shutout win over cross-county rival Chestatee, 5-0 on Monday in Gainesville.
Meeler tossed a complete game, allowing just three hits while walking three batters and striking out three War Eagles in the win.
The Trojans (16-7, 11-3 Region 8-AAAA) pounced for a 1-0 lead in the top of the first -- which was all Meeler needed.
Jackson Latty helped pace the North Hall offense, cranking a solo home run, while Drew Atha added a double and an RBI. Fowler Brooks and Clark Hill also provided one hit and one RBI apiece in the win.
Taber Mongero, Maddux Dill and Jake Chester also each produced hits for the Trojans.
Cameron Wilson, Joe Sutton and Christian Carter each recorded hits for Chestatee -- but it was nowhere near enough against Meeler.
The War Eagles (8-14, 4-8) will look to bounce back on Wednesday at Madison County.
North Hall, meanwhile, will play again on Friday when they travel to Atlanta to face Cartersville in a game played at Turner Field -- first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
