The current assistant principal at Friendship Elementary School is in line for the top job at the school.
Hall County Schools Supt. Will Schofield says he will recommend to the board of education that Tracie Brack fill the position being vacated by Berry Walton, who recently announced plans to retire at the end of the current school year.
After graduating from Central Gwinnett High School, Brack went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1998 from the University of Georgia. She completed her Doctorate in Education Leadership at Georgia State University in 2015.
Brack spent her first twelve years in education as an elementary classroom teacher in three different schools districts - Forsyth, Gwinnett, and Hall. In 2010, she began the second phase of her career when she accepted the Assist Principal Position at Sugar Hill Elementary. While serving there with Principal Beth Scarda, the school earned National Blue Ribbon Recognition in 2013.
