COLLEGE PARK — Class AAAAA No. 1 Buford beat Cedar Grove 60-45 Tuesday in the Woodward Classic at the Woodward Academy gym.
David Viti had 18 points and eight rebounds to paced the Wolves (9-0). Marcus Watson had 16 points and eight rebounds and Alex Jones had eight points and seven assists for Buford.
The Wolves opened strong running out to a 17-7 lead after the first quarter and they led 27-22 at halftime. They blew the game open with a 20-9 third quarter for a 47-31 lead heading into the final period.
Buford is off until next Tuesday when it takes on Sullivan East out of Bluff City, Tenn. in the Arby's Classic.
