LAVONIA — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has released bodycam footage from one of the Lavonia police officers who was shot during a traffic stop at Zaxby's in Lavonia Monday night.
Capt. Michael Schulman, 50, was shot near his armpit, while Jeffery Martin, 22, was shot in the hand.
The video files from Schulman's body-worn camera show a portion of the traffic stop on Khari Anthony Dashaun Gordon, 22, of Greenville ,S.C., then gunfire can be heard before the injured officers retreat to a patrol car while summoning help.
Officials say the video demonstrates how quickly a situation can go bad.
