HOMER — Effective this weekend Banks County residents and visitors will be able to purchase alcoholic beverages on Sunday.
The Banks County Commission voted this week to begin the sales on Sunday, Dec. 4.
Following the meeting, Commission Chairman Jimmy Hooper explained and noted one particular upcoming exception.
"The voters in Banks County on the November referendum approved Sunday alcohol sales and this kind of puts us in line with all the counties and cities around us" Hooper said. "Sales on Sunday begin at 12:30, and of course they will not be able to sell it on Christmas Day — that's the one exception."
