GAINESVILLE — Taylor Hawks poured in 24 points to go with nine rebounds to lead the Gainesville girls to a 61-53 win over Milton Friday night at the Gainesville gym.
The Lady Red Elephants (2-1) jumped out to a 23-9 lead after the first quarter and took a 38-17 lead into halftime. They extended their lead to 52-30 heading into the fourth quarter.
Milton used a 23-9 fourth quarter run to make the closer.
Tangi Miller added 10 pouints and five rebounds for Gainesville, which is off until playing Brookwood on Dec. 10 in the Valhalla Classic at East Hall High School.
