ATHENS — The Lakeview Academy girls beat Athens Academy 55-32 Saturday in a Region 8-A contest on the road.
The Lady Lions (15-6, 8-1 Region 8-A) was led by 13 points from Hannah Grogan. Ryann Moody added 11 points and Christen Copeland had 10 for Lakeview, which has won nine of its last 10 games overall.
The Lady Lions opened with a 12-6 first quarter and pushed their lead to 28-17 by halftime. They blew the game open in the third quarter outscoring the Lady Spartans 18-9 for a 46-26 lead. They held Athens Academy (8-10, 3-5) to just six points in the fourth quarter.
Lakeview Academy next will play host to Tallulah Falls on Tuesday in another Region 8-A matchup.
