GCSS introduces mobile app

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville City School System now has a mobile application to provide students, parents, teachers, and others with current district and school-related information. The app is free and can be used to help keep track of school events, news, homework and test notifications, and emergency information.

 Here are a few of the features available within the app:

  • Calendar of Events- Check the events at your school! Add events that you want to attend to your phone's calendar.
  • Directions - Find the district or schools' contact information and get directions.
  • Faculty and Staff Directory - Find contact information for teachers and administrators at the touch of a button.
  • Emergency and District Alerts-Stay informed about emergencies or inclement weather warnings. (Make sure you subscribe to Push Notifications to receive these alerts!)
  • News Sections - Stay up to date about current district and school news.
  • Helpful Links - Find information from useful resources.  
  • Capture Events on Camera - Take photos at an event and quickly share them with the Gainesville City School System's Logo.
