GAINESVILLE - A judge denied bond Tuesday for the suspect in a shooting incident at the Georgia State Patrol post in Gainesville Monday.
Leighton Beaux Marchetta was denied bond by a judge in a closed-circuit hearing. Marchetta requested a court-appointed lawyer, according to Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes.
Bailes said it appears a committal hearing was not requested.
Monday, Marchetta allegedly opened fire on the State Patrol post in the morning. He was shot and wounded in the shoulder by a trooper, and he was taken in to custody after being treated at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Marchetta faces two charges of aggravated assault on a police officer.
