ATLANTA — Tom Smiley of Gainesville has been named by Gov. Nathan Deal to the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame Board.
Smiley, senior pastor of Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville, is a former member of the Gainesville Airport Authority and is a member of Chapter 611 of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Deal has also appointed Steve Hatfield of Cumming to a spot on the Georgia Commission on Family Violence. Hatfield is the deputy director for the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.
