HIAWASSEE — The White County boys dropped a tough 86-83 overtime game to Hayesville (N.C.) Tuesday in the semifinals of the Battle of the States tournament.
The two teams got into a 3-point shooting battle with both draining 10 on the night.
Whit Mauney paced White County with 24 points and John Ward added 22. Desmon Mataro had 18 points and Brad Hurst 14 for the Warriors.
White County next will take on the loser of the Lumpkin County-Piedmont (Ala.). matchup on Wednesday at 5:30 in the consolation bracket.
