FLOWERY BRANCH - A Flowery Branch High School senior, Samantha Larkins, was a first-place winner at the recent National Cluster Meeting of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
More than 2,500 of the group's student leaders, members and advisers attended.
During the conference, hundreds of students competed in Skill Demonstration Events.
Larkins participated in "Technology in Teaching." She designed and created a presentation focusing on an app that students can use to create their own avatar. Larkins created an avatar to go along with a children’s book that was written in her Early Childhood Education course.
