Man suspected of theft in multiple counties nabbed in Hoschton

HOSCHTON—A Braselton man is behind bars facing a list of charges after Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies tracked him down Monday in Hoschton following a chase.

According to a press release from Sheriff Janis Mangum, the truck Billy Craig White, 39, was driving was suspected in several thefts in Jackson County, and was later determined to be stolen out of Hall County.

When confronted by deputies, White attempted to flee, but authorities arrested him in the backyard of a home off of Jackson Trail Road in Hoschton.

White was taken to the Jackson County Jail. Deputies searched White's home in Braselton Tuesday, where they recovered a number of stolen items, which Mangum said were from several surrounding counties.

White faces charges of fleeing, reckless driving, failure to use a turn signal, concealing a license plate, driving without a license, theft by taking, burglary, theft by receiving, obstruction and first-degree forgery (for using a fake name on his jail records).

White was also wanted on a probation violation in Walton County.
