Small fryer fire causes brief scare at Church's Chicken

GAINESVILLE - Employees at a restaurant in Gainesville got a brief fire scare Friday night, but no one was hurt.<br /> <br /> Gainesville fire officials said the call came around 9:30 p.m. to Church's Chicken on E.E. Butler Parkway. It was the actual deep fryer that caught fire.<br /> <br /> Fire officials said employees tried to put the fire out on their own, but were unable to do so. First responders arrived and quickly put the fire out.<br /> <br /> The fire was contained to the deep fryer. The Gainesville Fire Marshal's office was working to determine the cause.<br />
