GDOT names new District Traffic Engineer for NE Ga.

GAINESVILLE - Georgia Department of Transportation District Engineer, Bayne Smith announces that Scott Zehngraff is now DOT's District Traffic Engineer for the 21 counties in Northeast Georgia that comprise District One.<br /> <br /> Zehngraff began working with Georgia DOT in 1995 as a Civil Engineer Technologist. He was assigned to the Construction Division in Metro Atlanta. Scott moved into Traffic Operations and worked his way up in that Office serving most recently as General Operations Manager of the State Traffic Operations Office. In his new position effective August 16, Zehngraff will be responsible for District wide traffic engineering studies, signal timing studies, safety enhancement reviews, citizen complaint investigations, commercial driveway permits, speed zone/radar ordinance coordination and the placement, installation and maintenance on all traffic signals and other traffic control devices.<br /> <br /> Zehngraff received the Inaugural "Wayne Shackelford Leadership Award" in 2011. It is considered the Department's highest honor given to a Veteran Employee who consistently demonstrates exceptional leadership, commitment to Georgia DOT and to the Citizens of Georgia.<br /> <br /> "Scott will do an excellent job as our Traffic Engineer," explained Smith. "His focus is on safety and he will incorporate safety improvements into every facet of his work ensuring it is utilized throughout the entire traffic operations office."<br /> <br /> Zehngraff graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering Technology. He earned his Professional Engineer's license for the State of Georgia in 2004.<br /> <br /> Scott is a native of Georgia and currently lives in Lilburn with his wife Chrissy and two children; 10 year old Jule and seven year old Eric.
