Gainesville woman elected President of the Georgia Academy of Audiology

DEMOREST - Dr. Susan Parr, an audiologist at Habersham Medical Center, has been elected president of the Georgia Academy of Audiology.

The Georgia Academy of Audiology is a professional organization of audiologists, and friends of the audiology community, that promotes quality hearing and balance care by advancing the profession of audiology through leadership, advocacy, education, public awareness, and support of research.

Dr. Parr has served as the Northern Representative on the Georgia Academy of Audiology Board of Directors since 2009 and last year served as President-Elect. A Pennsylvania native, she graduated from the University of Florida with a Doctor of Audiology degree, earned a Master of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

She and her husband Donald have two children Leesa and Aaron and live in Gainesville. They are also expecting their first grandchild.
