Sport Clips Haircuts to open in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - Sport Clips Haircuts is opening Friday at 890 Dawsonville Highway in Gainesville. This is the first location in the city, adding to the more than 900 Sport Clips across the country.

"What's better than being in a relaxing environment, where sports are on TV everywhere you look, with well-trained stylists and no need for an appointment when it's time for a haircut?" asked David Wachendorfer, Team Leader for the new Sport Clips. "Those are just a few reasons why we know Sport Clips will be a hit for the guys here in Gainesville."

In conjunction with the grand opening, the new shop has partnered with local charity Challenged Child and Friends (CCAF), which offers a tailored and integrated experience where children with a variety of developmental delays and disabilities learn and grow in a full inclusion program with children who have typical development. Friday through July 1, clients who donate $5 or more to CCAF upon check out, will receive a free haircut.

"The folks at Challenged Child and Friends do great work with kids with all kinds of disabilities in a caring, nurturing environment," said Wachendorfer. "As the father of a son with autism, I know that these kids and their families need all the help we can give them."

Refreshments will be provided throughout the weekend, courtesy of Red Sky Neighborhood Grill.
