GAINESVILLE - The Longstreet Clinic (TLC) is now providing Emergency Department care to patients at Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega.

This new partnership expands TLC's relationship with the hospital. In January 2011, Longstreet Inpatient Medicine began providing care to hospitalized patients in Dahlonega. In September 2011, Phillip R. Brown, MD, joined The Longstreet Clinic's Department of General Surgery in Dahlonega and began performing surgery at Chestatee Regional.

"Our physicians and practices are continually looking for innovative methods to deliver the highest quality medical care that meets the needs of our patients and the communities we serve," said Mimi Collins, CEO of The Longstreet Clinic. "We have been pleased with previous partnerships with Chestatee Regional, including our hospitalist and general surgery programs, and we are excited about the opportunity to expand our relationship with Chestatee and the community by providing emergency care to patients in the Greater Dahlonega and Lumpkin County area."

Jim Pruitt, M.D., who recently joined The Longstreet Clinic, has been serving as Chestatee Emergency Department Medical Director and will continue to serve in that capacity. Dr. Pruitt is board certified in both emergency medicine and family medicine, and has practiced as an emergency department physician for more than 25 years. He will work with other experienced community physicians to provide high quality, compassionate care to patients in urgent or emergency situations.

Jason Cox, CEO of Chestatee Regional said, "We are excited about the growing opportunities and partnerships here at Chestatee Regional Hospital. The Longstreet Clinic will provide a renewed focus on our training, and our Emergency Department will have opportunities to improve its services through this partnership. We are looking forward to the advancements that Longstreet will provide and how this partnership will better our overall quality of service, as we serve our community."
