AUGUSTA - Hall County's planning director has been elected President of the Georgia Association of Metropolitan Organizations.
Srikanth Yamala will head up the organization for a two-year term. According to the county, GAMPO provides a venue for metropolitan planning organizations in the state to exchange information related to policy in transportation planning.
"It's an honor to be recognized by an active group of transportation professionals who are dedicated in moving Georgia ahead regardless of several challenges," Yamala said.
The term starts early in 2013.
