GAINESVILLE - A local business is set to be issued a $5 million revenue bonds by the Gainesville/Hall County Development Authority as it moves toward stepping up production.
Authority attorney Tread Syfan told the Gainesville City Council Thursday that IMS Gear Georgia is ready to increase its manufacturing of car parts.

Syfan says there was no opposition to the bond during a recent public hearing, and he says the city is not obligated for any of the funding.
Earlier this year, IMS was named "Small Industry of the Year" by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. At that time, Greg Vitek said his company had recently lost 60 percent of its business but decided to keep the doors open and plan for the future. (See earlier story.)
