ATHENS - Two 10-year-old boys are dead after a tractor-trailer rear-ended the car they were riding in near Athens.
Evan Escoe of Hull died instantly in the wreck Friday along U.S. Highway 441. Samuel Hart of Comer died Saturday afternoon at an Atlanta hospital.
The children were in the back seat of a car headed to the lake at Sandy Creek Park. The driver was Samuel's mother, Elisha Hart. Hart and her 8-year-old son, who was in the front seat, were hurt, but the injuries were not life-threatening.
Authorities said the trucker is a 57-year-old man from North Carolina. He was not identified.
