WCC chairman concerned about trash site construction bids

By Dean Dyer/WRWH
CLEVELAND - White County Commissioners were quite surprised at bids submitted for the construction of a new recycling and trash drop-off center, noting that they hope to trim the costs if possible.

The three bids range from $184,000 to $289,000. Commission Chairman Travis Turner said the county has the money for the complex but needs to cut the cost if possible.

The former center on Hulsey Road was closed in October in order to make room for construction of the new jail.

The new center will be located on Hulsey Road near The Rock of Cleveland church and is a stop priority of the White County Commission this year.
