MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Alabama Legislature passed an Arizona-style immigration law on its next-to-last meeting day.

The House and Senate agreed on an immigration bill Thursday that requires all businesses to verify the legal status of their new employees.

The action occurred on the same day Georgia was sued over it's new immigration law. (See separate story.)
