GAINESVILLE - A Lumpkin County man was killed in an accident on Cleveland Highway north of Gainesville Monday night.
Hall County Coroner Marion Merck said Tuesday morning he is Samuel Allen Bentley of Dahlonega.
Lt. Nina Harkins of the Gainesville Police Department says the crash occurred just south of Longstreet Bridge when Bentley's SUV overturned down a 50-75 foot embankment. Lt. Harkins said Bentley was thrown from the vehicle.
The accident happened about 11:45 last night. Harkins says investigators are unsure why Bentley left the road.
