Tennis: Johnson girls whip Lanier

OAKWOOD -- The Johnson girls tennis team took a 4-1 win over Lanier Thursday in Region 8B-AAA action.

Cady Nix beat Meg McRee 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles while Maggie Turner beat Victoria Inman 6-0, 7-5 at No. 2 singles. Ryleigh Shannon fell to Jenna Soucia 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 in a third set tiebreaker.

Claire Crain and Harlee Robson whipped Alli Raez and Olivia Wallace 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles and the No. 2 doubles team of Carlyn Ivey and Emma Rowlett blanked Nivein Gobran and Jessica Keever 6-0, 6-0.
