GAINESVILLE-The holiday season is rapidly approaching, and for two local waste and recycling removal companies, the time for the most unique canned food collection effort in North Georgia is upon us.
Every November, Red Oak Sanitation and White Oak Sanitation send moving trucks on their garbage and recycling routes for one week to collect canned food donations that customers and customers' neighbors leave beside their curbs. The companies have been providing this simple, effective opportunity for North Georgia residents to support local families in need since 2007.
