Haiti relief efforts in NE Ga. increasing

By Dean Dyer/WRWH
UNDATED - More and more northeast Georgia groups are lining up to help with the Haitain relief effort.

Among the latest is the Bridge Church in Cleveland.

The pastor, Patrick Ballington, says he has a personal interest in the relief efforts. Ballington said his brother-in-law, Shane Bowers, who is with the band Julian Drive, was in Haiti when the quake struck and it was several hours before they heard from him. He and the band survived unharmed and had just left Port-au-Prince a few minutes before the quake struck.

Balligton said anyone wishing to help can contact the church or go on line at www.thebridgeonline.cc. Ballington says they not only want to help with the immediate relief efforts, but future rebuilding programs.

In addition, the Rotary Club of White County is joining worldwide efforts of Rotary International in accepting donations in support of the humanitarian relief effort.
