ATLANTA - Nearly $2 million in federal funds is headed to Gainesville to help combat homelessness in northeast Georgia.
Ninth District Opportunity (NDO) is getting $1.8 millions for use in the 13 counties it serves. The allocation is part of $18 million in economic stimulus money earmarked to the state for programs that address homelessness.
Seven organizations around the state will use the money for the "Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program" (HPRP).
