GAINESVILLE - The Longstreet Clinic announces the accreditation of its Health Resource and Appearance Center (The Shoppe) by The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (ABC).<br />

Michelle Arouri, ABC Certified Fitter Mastectomy, and Cathy Jarrells, BOC Certified Mastectomy Fitter, began preparation for the rigorous accreditation process in the summer of 2008. After submission of the application in January 2009 and completion of a site survey in April, The Shoppe was notified of a 99 out of 100 score earlier this month.<br />

The accreditation was designed for organizations providing patient care services regarding the selection, fit and delivery of post-mastectomy prostheses and related garments. Accreditation also is required for practices like The Longstreet Clinic who provide post-mastectomy prostheses to Medicare beneficiaries.<br />
