Two Fulton County men convicted of teen murder

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA - Two Union City men await sentencing after they were convicted of killing a high school student almost two years ago.

A Fulton County jury Thursday returned guilty verdicts against 25-year-old Eskie Christmas and nineteen-year-old Marcus Jackson.

Each were convicted of murder, felony murder and other offenses.
Christmas and Jackson were on trial for the Aug. 2007 shooting death of eighteen-year-old Brandon Horton, a student at Creekside High School.

Fulton County prosecutors said the teenager was shot in the head while he played basketball with friends.

A sentencing hearing was scheduled for a later date.

*CORRECTION: Earlier reports indicated the two convicted men are from Union County in Northeast Georgia. Those reports were incorrect.
