GAINESVILLE - A spokesman for Liberty Mutual Insurance confirmed Wednesday that it will be laying off 125 workers at its division office in Gainesville.
Glenn Greenberg, Liberty Mutual senior external relations specialist, told AccessNorthGa.com the layoffs are the result of a consolidation of some of the company's policy production into one location in New Hampshire.
Greenberg said the office, which is on Browns Bridge Road, is not closing. After the layoffs, about 150 people will still be employed there. He said the employees who will be losing their jobs will receive 60 days' notice starting about three months into the new year. Greenberg added they will be offered the chance to apply for jobs at any of Liberty Mutual's other office.
