GAINESVILLE - Hall County commissioners are tweaking the regulations that govern "well water" permits in the county, and also have approved a plan to regulate tattoo businesses.
Commissioners have approved a plan calling for a follow-up inspection of new individual wells in the county. An initial site visit for a permit inspection will still be required.
In addition, the fees to cover these inspections by the county Environmental Health Department are being increased from $50 to $100.
BODY ART REGULATIONS
In addition, the county plans to begin regulating tattoo businesses in the county. The county's environmental heath department will also be responsible for enforcing these new regulations, including the permitting process, routine inspections and complaint investigations. The changes go into effect Jan. 1 and it will be the first time the county has established regulations for body art businesses.
Fees will be $275 for an initial business permit and $150 annually after that for renewal; $50 for an initial technician permit and $20 for annual renewal; $150 re-inspection fee; and $100 plan review fee.
The fees are based on a rate study of fees charges in surrounding counties, according to county officials. The county expects to receive an additional $3,025 in revenue from the body art fees and an additional $5,000 from the increased well permit fees.
