GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Parks and Recreation announces that a sidewalk replacement project at Wilshire Trails Park will begin Friday - meaning portions of the popular park will be closed for up to 15 days.
Portions of the damaged concrete walkways near the Park Pavilion will be removed and new concrete poured. That means parts of the walkway area, parking lot and playground will be closed to the public at times during construction. Foot traffic will be re-routed around the renovated areas. The project is expected to take "10-15 working days" to complete, weather permitting.
The sidewalk replacement project is part of agency's ongoing efforts to update the city's park system.
