Hooper named Business Woman of the Year

GAINESVILLE - The founder of an interactive museum for children has been named this year's Businesswoman of the Year by the local chapter of the American Business Women's Association.

Sheri Hooper was chosen from among three nominees for the award. The others were Lennie McFarland, owner of Sunshine Florist, and Cheryl Vandiver, Senior Resource Development Manager, American Red Cross.

Hooper is the founder and director of Interactive Neighborhood for Kids, or INK.

The award was presented at the group's annual meeting Wednesday.
