Habersham County Airport dedication planned

CORNELIA - A dedication ceremony will be held later this month for the newly expanded Habersham County Airport.

The project involved the lengthening of the runway to 5,500 feet. It was also widened to 100 feet and a new turnaround added.

"Also in conjunction with this project we have opened a new phase of our county industrial park adjacent to the airport," according to Ed Nichols , Executive Director of the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce.

Nichols said after the ceremony, at 10:30 Aug. 13, which is open to the public, there will be demonstrations, fly-ins and other activities.
