CINCINNATI - One of the fourteen Marines who died earlier this month in the single deadliest roadside bombing of the war in Iraq has relatives in Gainesville.
According to an obituary on a Cincinnati newspaper's Web site, 19-year-old Lance Cpl. Christopher Dyer was the grandson of Odell and Joyce Dyer of Gainesville.
The Cincinnati Post, in a separate article, says Dyer was one of 14 Ohio-based Marine reservists who were killed August 3. Dyer and three others were from the greater Cincinnati area.
